What’s your story?
Join us at Cville Stories to share yours
Cville Stories is a vibrant personal storytelling event where you will have an opportunity to share your story and to hear some amazing stories from our selected storytellers. In 2025 we held five themed shows and are ready for more great storytelling in 2026!
This show is produced by Barbara Fornoff, who has told stories with Better Said Than Done, Story District, and here in Charlottesville with The Big Blue Door. Our show is in the style of The Moth, and our stories are true personal stories that are themed, with time limits, no notes and no props. We do include some folk and fairy tales as long as they mesh with our theme.
The Crozet Gazette did a feature article on Cville Stories.

The theme for the February show is: Cupid’s Arrow: Stories about love, crushes, lust and passion. I am currently casting for this show, and first-timers are welcome. Contact Us
If you are interested in being one of our storytellers please contact us with the synopsis of your story. I need to hear your whole story if you are chosen for the show. Coaching to help shape your story is available.
Our show follows these boundaries for stories: We provide a safe and respectful space, and we want stories that are free from discrimination or intimidation based on race, gender, ability, or sexual orientation and to include any demeaning or hateful speech.
